Modi briefs Kovind on Ukraine

New Delhi, March 1 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met President Ram Nath Kovind and briefed him on the ongoing Ukraine situation, especially the efforts being made to evacuate thousands of Indians under Operation Ganga, sources said. This is first meeting between the two leaders ever since Russia launched a military offensive against Ukraine on February 24. Modi briefed the President on India's evacuation efforts so far under Operation Ganga from the conflict ridden Ukraine, sources said. Modi so far has chaired two high level meetings till Monday to review the ongoing efforts to evacuate Indians stuck in Kyiv, Kharkhiv and other cities of Ukraine. Most of then are students. Modi has also deputed four senior ministers as his Special Envoys to Ukraine's neighbouring states to expedite the evacuation efforts.
